"One of the thermal generation facilities in the Kyiv oblast came under massive shelling. The goal is obvious – to cause even more difficulties for the peaceful population of Ukraine, to leave Ukrainian homes, hospitals, kindergartens, and schools without light and heat", - the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported on the morning of September 8.
The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that generation facilities, electricity transmission and distribution systems, and gas infrastructure are not military targets.
"The enemy clearly understands that it is striking critical CIVILIAN infrastructure. At present, rescuers and energy workers are working to eliminate the consequences of the shelling. We are doing everything possible to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible. We will report any changes in energy supply additionally. Follow official announcements", - the statement says.
As reported, parts of Kyiv and the Kyiv oblast experienced power outages after the Shahed drone raid last night.
