“Why is China not participating in security guarantees? Firstly, China did not help us stop this war from the very beginning. Secondly, China helped russia by opening the drone market. Third: this is not even about the military personnel who are present there. This is about the Budapest Memorandum”, - said President Volodymyr Zelensky during a conversation with journalists on August 20, reported by Interfax-Ukraine on August 21.
“China was among those signatories, they did nothing when Crimea was occupied. That is exactly why we do not need guarantors who do not help Ukraine and did not help Ukraine at the moment when we really needed it after February 24”, - added the head of the Ukrainian state.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine needs security guarantees only from those countries that are ready to help it.
