In the Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk oblast, “where there was seepage through our lines”, the Defense Forces are destroying the occupiers who penetrated deep inside, “90%, almost 100% of them were destroyed”. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this while talking to journalists on August 20, reported on August 21 by Interfax-Ukraine.
According to Zelensky, in the Donetsk oblast the 54th Brigade is also restoring the situation, and there are certain good results in the Luhansk oblast as well.
At the same time, a buildup of russian occupiers’ forces is being observed in the Zaporizhzhia direction of the front.
“Zaporizhzhia: the enemy’s forces are building up. We reported that the Pokrovsk direction and Zaporizhzhia would see a buildup. We see that they continue transferring part of the troops from the Kursk direction to Zaporizhzhia. Our positions there have not been lost”, - Zelensky noted.
In the Kupiansk direction in the Kharkiv oblast in the northern part, there were sabotage groups, and a counter-sabotage operation is also underway there. In the Sumy direction, no threats of advancement are observed, the Head of State reported.
“In Kursk oblast we maintain our presence. Thanks to this presence, as of today tens of thousands of russian servicemen are located there and are not being redeployed to Donetsk oblast and other directions,” Zelensky emphasized.
