US President Donald Trump and European leaders agreed that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will lead a working group of national security advisors and NATO representatives that will develop a draft of security guarantees for Ukraine. This was reported by “Hromadske” with reference to The Wall Street Journal and European officials familiar with the course of negotiations.
According to them, the security guarantees will consist of four components:
- military presence;
- air defense;
- weapons;
- monitoring of the cessation of hostilities.
Sources added that the United States may provide indirect military support to European peacekeepers without deploying American troops on the territory of Ukraine.
The White House declined to comment for The Wall Street Journal, and Rubio’s press service did not respond to journalists’ requests.
