The United Kingdom is ready to send its troops to Ukraine as guarantees after reaching an agreement with russia. A representative of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that the United Kingdom, together with other allies in the “Coalition of the Willing”, has prepared to send “security forces” to Ukraine. The Times reports this, according to “LB.ua”.
These troops are meant partly to “reassure Ukrainians” and to become part of safe skies, safe seas, and the restoration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He welcomed the efforts of US President Donald Trump to pave the way toward security guarantees.
Downing Street agrees with Trump’s thesis that a long-term peace agreement may not require a ceasefire. Starmer’s representative added that the best option is to end the conflict as soon as possible.
He also emphasized that Starmer remains of the opinion that Ukraine has the right to independently decide whether to be part of NATO. The representative noted that russia cannot veto Ukrainian membership.
