US President Donald Trump stated that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky “can end the war with russia if he wants to”, however Ukraine will not be joining NATO. He said this on the social network Truth Social, Suspilne News reported on August 18.
“President Zelensky of Ukraine can end the war with russia almost immediately, if he wants to, or he can continue to fight. Remember how it started. No getting back Obama given Crimea (12 years ago, without a shot being fired!), and no going into NATO by Ukraine. Some things never change!” - Trump wrote.
He also announced a meeting with Zelensky at the White House with the participation of European partners.
“Big day at the White House tomorrow. Never had so many European Leaders at one time. My great honor to host them!” - Trump wrote after his address to Zelensky.
As reported, Zelensky has already arrived in Washington.
