“We’re fairly calm about this. First of all, Trump, in general, has a rather tough stylistic approach in the phrases he uses and so on”, - said kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov to russian media today, July 9, commenting on Trump’s recent statements.
“We hope to continue our dialogue with Washington and our course toward fixing the seriously broken bilateral relations”, - Peskov added. He also responded to a question about whether Trump had allegedly threatened putin and Xi Jinping with bombing moscow and Beijing in the event of military action in Ukraine and Taiwan.
“It’s hard to say here: the fact is that there weren’t any phone calls back then. As far as I understand, this refers to a period when Trump wasn’t yet president of the United States. So I would still recommend addressing your questions to the White House”, - said Peskov.
He also stated that there are a lot of fakes right now. “You’re asking me to confirm whether there was a speech by Trump in America, supposedly when he was speaking with some donors in 2024. At the very least, that’s not quite correct. I can’t confirm or deny it, even if I wanted to: it’s about a speech by Trump in 2024 in America. I work in russia, thank God. Whether it’s fake or not — we don’t know either. There are a lot of fakes nowadays. Often there are more fakes than truthful information, and we always proceed from that when analyzing certain news”, - said Peskov.
