French President Emmanuel Macron stated this during a speech before the UK Parliament on July 8, RFI reports.
“We will fight until the last minute to achieve a ceasefire and begin negotiations to build a strong and lasting peace, because it is our security and our shared principles that are at stake in Ukraine”, - Macron emphasized.
“It is the stability of Europe and the peace that our generation has enjoyed in recent decades that are at stake in Ukraine, and nothing less”, - he added.
France and the United Kingdom must “work together” to “protect the international order” that emerged after World War II, the French leader also urged.
“As permanent members of the UN Security Council, deeply committed to multipolarity, the United Kingdom and France must again show the world that their alliance can make a difference”, - the French president stressed.
