Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, summed up the Ukrainian army's activities in June, according to the official Telegram channel of the Commander-in-Chief on July 8.
According to him, the past month was a period of particular tension at the front: the russian aggressor tried to destabilize the defense, increased the intensity of strikes, and sought to stretch the line of contact.
The main task of Ukrainian forces was to stabilize the situation in the most threatening directions: the Northern-Slobozhansk, Dobropilsk, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlivsk sectors. It was there that the enemy concentrated the largest number of troops and has a tangible advantage in manpower and equipment.
“The enemy is increasing its personnel, expanding missile and drone production. In response, we are applying both symmetrical and asymmetrical actions, looking for new tactical and technological solutions”, - Syrskyi emphasized.
Throughout June, Ukrainian forces carried out 115 fire missions as part of DeepStrike operations. AFU artillery struck 2,864 enemy targets. At the same time, air defense forces destroyed around 4,000 aerial targets, as the enemy increased its missile and drone attacks by 1.6 times.
Among the top priorities are strengthening the air defense system and improving mobilization efforts. A meeting was held to analyze violations during mobilization in certain regions, and the identified shortcomings will be corrected.
Separately, the Commander-in-Chief noted a positive trend in the return of soldiers from medical leave, indicating the strengthening of combat readiness.
In the context of an unstable international situation, Ukraine is seeking new methods for acquiring and repairing equipment and continues to develop strike drones as a compensator for artillery shortages.
“A new difficult month of war lies ahead. We have already defined specific tasks to strengthen our defense capabilities”, - Syrskyi concluded.
