The US has temporarily halted the supply of certain anti-aircraft missiles and precision-guided munitions to Ukraine amid concerns over the depletion of its own arsenals. This was reported by Politico, citing three informed sources, according to “The Moscow Times” Telegram channel.

According to the outlet, the decision was made by the head of the Pentagon’s policy office, Elbridge Colby, after an inspection of the US Department of Defense’s ammunition stockpiles. The results of the audit raised concern: it turned out there had been a significant decrease in the number of artillery shells, anti-aircraft missiles, and precision strike weapons.

The initial decision to suspend the aid (previously approved by Joe Biden’s administration) was made in early June but has only now taken effect, amid massive russian missile and drone attacks on peaceful Ukrainian cities, Politico notes. Requests for comment from the White House and Pentagon were left unanswered.

As previously reported, the administration of President Trump, and the president himself, continue to believe that it is not yet time to punish russia with new sanctions.
