This was announced by Congressman Lindsey Graham on ABC, according to the BBC.
“We will move the bill forward; it’s allowed on the very first day after the Senate’s July recess”, - said Graham.
According to him, on Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump personally told him during a golf game that “it’s time to move the bill forward”.
“If you buy goods from russia and don’t help Ukraine, your imports to the U.S. will face a 500% tariff. India and China purchase 70% of russian oil. The president will be able to impose tariffs on China, India, and other countries”, - said Graham, commenting on the sanctions outlined in the bill.
Earlier, Trump stated he was “unhappy with what putin is doing” and is “absolutely” considering tightening sanctions against russia.
In mid-June, the U.S. President said that Washington was not imposing new sanctions on moscow in hopes of reaching a peace settlement in the russian-Ukrainian conflict.
