This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to CNN Türk.
Erdoğan emphasized that russia's war against Ukraine “must end” and added that a just and lasting peace must be established in the region.
He also noted that the recent negotiations between Ukraine and russia, which took place in Istanbul, “opened the door to peace”. Erdoğan stressed that Türkiye will continue to work to “bring the parties back together”.
“Our ultimate goal is to hold a meeting at the level of our countries’ leaders and build the desired peace. We also told this to the President of the United States, Mr. Trump, during our meeting. He said: ‘If the head of russia comes to Istanbul or Ankara to solve the problem, I will come to Istanbul or Ankara’. We will hold the necessary meetings and, hopefully, meet as soon as possible”, - said Erdoğan.
