The russian foreign ministry issued a statement “in connection with the escalation in the Middle East”, in which it condemned everything russia itself is doing against Ukraine.
According to the kremlin, “the attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran” are “unprovoked aggression, blatant attempts to change the regime, infringe on the sovereignty of the country, interfere in its internal affairs, and decide the fate of the Iranian people for them”.
The russian foreign ministry stated that such actions “grossly violate the UN Charter, fundamental norms, and principles of international law”.
As is well known, on February 24, 2022, russia launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine. The “memorandum” presented by the russian side during negotiations in Istanbul contains explicit demands for regime change in Ukraine, the renunciation of its sovereignty, and consent to interference in its internal affairs. The kremlin insists that unleashing a bloody war against Ukraine, which has led to numerous casualties, fully complies with the UN Charter and norms of international law.
