“After the strikes on nuclear program facilities in Iran, there was a lot of noise from moscow — the russian leadership demonstratively condemned the ‘missile and bomb’ actions. Today moscow is silent after the russian army launched a completely cynical strike using russian-iranian Shaheds and missiles on civilian infrastructure in Kyiv and other of our cities and communities. In Kyiv alone, five apartment buildings were damaged. These are regular residential buildings. As of now, six people are confirmed dead. Another person was killed in this strike in Bila Tserkva, the Kyiv oblast. A Shahed hit a hospital there. My condolences to all the families and loved ones”, - the president noted.
According to him, rescuers are currently clearing rubble and providing assistance wherever needed. This strike damaged facilities in four oblasts.
“There were 352 drones in total, including 159 Shaheds, just during this night, and 16 missiles. According to preliminary data, ballistic missiles from North Korea were also used. A significant portion of the drones and missiles was shot down by our air defenders. But not all. And everyone in countries near russia, Iran, North Korea should think about whether life can be protected there if this coalition of killers persists and continues spreading terror. Today, during my visit to the United Kingdom, I will speak with partners specifically about this — about our defense, which should become the foundation of a much stronger joint defense. And we will also be agreeing on new and powerful measures of pressure on russia for this war and to stop the attacks”, - Zelensky emphasized.
