Volodymyr Zelensky reported on June 17 via social media about his meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the G7 summit.

"I spoke about last night’s russian attack on our people, civilian infrastructure, and residential buildings using 440 Iranian Shahed drones and 32 missiles, including ballistic ones. We discussed steps for further diplomatic work with partners within NATO, the G7, and the coalition of the willing, strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, deepening our military cooperation, particularly joint weapons production projects and investments in the Ukrainian defense industry", - noted the President of Ukraine.

"I’m grateful for the introduction of new sanctions against russia’s shadow fleet, a number of russian individuals, and more than 40 companies in russia and other countries that help russia circumvent sanctions", - Zelensky added.

"I’m especially grateful for the new military support for Ukraine: drones, helicopters, and ammunition worth over $2 billion, and the next tranche of more than $2 billion from the proceeds of frozen russian assets", - the President emphasized.
