The model of russian economic growth that had been working in recent years has exhausted its potential, and further development requires a step upward, not forward. This was openly stated in an interview with Expert magazine by Deputy Head of the presidential administration of the russian federation, Maksim Oreshkin, according to the pro-kremlin outlet Lenta.ru.

According to Oreshkin, the leap was associated with tapping into the dormant potential of the economy — primarily labor and production. But now, as russia faces the lowest unemployment rate among all major countries in the world and existing capacities are already highly utilized, further movement in this direction is no longer feasible.

The kremlin representative emphasized that continued development will require organizational and technological breakthroughs. However, he did not specify in which areas or by what means these breakthroughs are expected to be achieved.

Just a month ago, on May 18, he had told the media that “the russian economy has already learned to live under external restrictions, and is using many of them to its own advantage”.

“There is confident, sustainable economic growth in russia, with record-low unemployment”, - Oreshkin had claimed.
