The sovereign assets of the russian federation in the jurisdictions of the "Group of Seven" countries will remain frozen until the full cessation of aggression against Ukraine and compensation for all damages caused. This is stated in the final communiqué of the G7 finance ministers' summit held this week, reports Ukrainska Pravda.

"We confirm that, in accordance with our legal systems, russia's sovereign assets in our jurisdictions will remain frozen until russia ceases its aggression and compensates Ukraine for the damages it has caused", - the document emphasizes.

The G7 also clearly outlined its position on the war: "We condemn russia's ongoing brutal war against Ukraine and express respect for the immense resilience of the Ukrainian people and economy. The 'Group of Seven' remains committed to unwavering support for Ukraine in defending its territorial integrity and right to exist, as well as its freedom, sovereignty, and independence on the path to a just and sustainable peace".

The G7 finance ministers also announced support for initiatives aimed at achieving a ceasefire.

"We welcome ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire. If such a ceasefire is not achieved, we will continue to consider all possible options, including increasing pressure, including further tightening of sanctions", - the statement says.

In addition, the G7 countries confirmed their readiness to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

"We will continue to coordinate support that facilitates the rapid recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine, including at the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will be held in Rome on July 10–11, 2025", - the ministers noted.

The communiqué also states the importance of preventing enrichment of those who support russian aggression.
