This was reported by Cadena SER radio.
According to reports, police are investigating the murder of a 52-year-old man near the gates of an American school in Madrid, specifically in the Madrid suburb of Pozuelo de Alarcón. The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m., when the National Police received a report about a person with gunshot wounds on a public road.
Law enforcement confirmed death from injuries incompatible with life after several gunshots. Specifically, four shots to the chest area and one more to the head.
According to SER, the victim was Andrii Portnov, former advisor to Viktor Yanukovych, who was on the EU blacklist for embezzlement of state funds or human rights violations in Ukraine. The charges were later dropped, but Ukrainian special services were investigating his ties to russia.
Police sources report that a man on a motorcycle was waiting for the victim at the gates of the educational center, and when Portnov arrived, he shot him and then fled.
As a reminder, Portnov was also one of the ideologists of the laws passed to suppress the 2014 Euromaidan protests, and later became the subject of an investigation for “treason” for his likely role in russia’s invasion of Crimea.
