This was stated by the press secretary of the russian president, Dmitry Peskov, according to the Telegram channel “The Moscow Times”.

“There is no timeline, and there can’t be one. It’s clear that everyone wants to do it as quickly as possible, but, of course, the devil is in the details”, - Peskov said.

According to him, moscow and Kyiv will form their own drafts of the memorandum, and then the sides will face “difficult contacts to work out a unified text”. He emphasized that for russia, the most important thing in any document is the “elimination of the root causes of this conflict”.

Peskov also stated that “no concrete decisions have yet been made about the location where contacts between russia and Ukraine will continue”.

The message recalls that the day before, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kyiv is ready to sign a memorandum with moscow that would pave the way to a treaty ending the war. According to him, Kyiv will await the russian version of the document before the next round of negotiations to understand how, in moscow’s view, a ceasefire can be achieved and what the next steps might be. The next meeting between representatives of Ukraine and russia could take place in the Vatican, Istanbul, or Switzerland with the participation of the U.S., the European Union, and the United Kingdom, Zelensky added.
