A meeting between the Ukrainian and russian delegations has started in Turkey for the first time since 2022.
Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan addressed the delegations with a welcoming speech.
"There are two paths: one leads us to peace, the other will bring even more destruction. The sides themselves will determine which path to choose. The first meeting of the russian and Ukrainian delegations in three years is a chance that must be valued—every day of the conflict leads to casualties", - said Fidan, adding that "Ankara sincerely believes that the negotiations between russia and Ukraine in Istanbul can lead to peace if the sides approach them constructively".
