According to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the russian dictator putin intends to continue the war in Ukraine. Pistorius stated this in an interview with ZDF, reports the Telegram channel "DW Glavnoe".

"He doesn’t want to negotiate at all — he wants to continue bombing, fighting, and seizing territories", - declared the German Defense Minister.

When asked whether the Europeans are bluffing by threatening russia with new sanctions, Pistorius replied: "I don’t think so". According to him, Chancellor Friedrich Merz and other heads of state and government have made it clear "that sanctions and countermeasures are necessary and will definitely follow if a ceasefire doesn’t occur or if Putin does not adhere to it".

As previously reported, the European Commission intends to maintain sanctions pressure on russia: after the next, 17th package of sanctions is approved, work will begin on the 18th package of EU sanctions against the russian federation.
