Drones attacked russia’s Ryazan overnight on January 24, according to Ryazan Oblast Governor Pavel Malkov on Telegram, the russian Ministry of Defense, and Ukrainian NSDC Center for Countering Disinformation head Andriy Kovalenko on January 24.
"Unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed over the Ryazan oblast by air defense and electronic warfare systems. Preliminary information indicates no casualties, and material damage is being assessed", - Malkov wrote at 11:27 PM on January 23.
Later, he added that he was at work overnight and stated: "...the consequences of the air attack on Ryazan are being addressed. All emergency services are working... all relevant structures have been given appropriate instructions".
According to Malkov, "...drone debris struck a private house, causing a fire".
"It’s loud in the Ryazan oblast, russia. There’s an oil depot there. Moreover, the oil refinery—one of the key facilities in russia's oil industry—though under sanctions, is still operational. It’s located in the Ryazan oblast and plays a vital role in supplying fuel to both the civilian and military-industrial complexes of russia. It produces fuel for military vehicles, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, and other petroleum products used in tanks, planes, ships, and other equipment of the russian Armed Forces", - stated Ukrainian NSDC Center for Countering Disinformation head Andriy Kovalenko on Telegram.
Later, Kovalenko confirmed that strategic facilities in Ryazan, including the oil refinery, were indeed struck.
The russian Ministry of Defense stated: "During the past night, 121 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems: 37 over the Bryansk oblast, 20 over the Ryazan oblast, 17 over the Kursk oblast, 17 over the Saratov oblast, 7 over the Rostov oblast, 6 over the Moscow oblast, 6 over the Belgorod oblast, three the Voronezh oblast, 2 over the Tula oblast, 2 over the Oryol oblast, 2 over the Lipetsk oblast, 1 over the Republic of Crimea, and 1 over Moscow".
