Russian occupiers deployed 100 drones for strikes on Ukraine during the past night, with 66 of them being shot down, as reported by the Air Forces Command on Telegram on October 28.
"During the night of October 28, 2024 (starting at 7:00 PM on October 27), the enemy deployed 100 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and other unidentified drones from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in russia. As of 10:30 AM, the downing of 66 enemy UAVs has been confirmed in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Poltava, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Cherkasy oblasts. Most of the UAVs were intercepted in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Khmelnytskyi oblasts", - the statement said.
Additionally, 24 russian drones were lost locally, and four flew towards russia and Belarus. The aerial attack was countered by anti-aircraft missile forces, aviation, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups from the Air Forces and Ukrainian Defense Forces.
"Unfortunately, there were several hits on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure", - the statement also noted.
