Vuhledar, which was previously advantageous for defense due to its elevated position, suffered significant destruction from active strikes by russian guided aerial bombs (GABs). As a result, the enemy managed to advance on the flanks of Ukrainian defenses, stated the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko, on Telegram.
"Vuhledar. This city was previously easy to defend since it is on higher ground. But with the active use of GABs at the front, the enemy managed to destroy it and move to the flanks. Unfortunately, GABs and aviation are the only things allowing enemy infantry to advance", - he wrote.
In its report on September 24, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine mentioned that in the Vremivka direction, near Pavlivka and Vuhledar in the Donetsk oblast, the enemy made eight attempts to capture Ukrainian positions. All attacks were successfully repelled by Ukrainian defenders.
