On August 1, the Ukrainian corvette "Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi" was launched in Istanbul. This was reported on Telegram by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
"Today in Istanbul, together with the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, we participated in the launching of the Ukrainian corvette 'Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi'. The corvettes 'Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi' and 'Hetman Ivan Mazepa', which were built in Turkey due to russian aggression, are equipped with the most advanced weapons and will be a significant addition to our fleet, enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities", - said the minister.
"I am grateful to our Turkish partners for their support during these challenging times for our country. Ukraine has already broken the dominance of the russian fleet at sea, destroying dozens of ships. We are actively expanding the capabilities of the Ukrainian Navy in the Black and Azov Seas. I appreciate President Volodymyr Zelensky for his initiative and support in implementing this important project. We are moving forward to new victories!", - emphasized Umerov.
