Russia intends to initiate a UN Security Council meeting in August to discuss the delivery of American F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. This was announced by Dmitry Polyanskiy, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of russia to the UN, as reported by russian media.

"We will definitely hold such a meeting in August. There is no particular urgency because information is coming in and being updated daily, and we need to prepare thoroughly", - said Polyanskiy.

Additionally, he stated that russia plans to raise this issue at meetings convened by Western countries.

Previously, the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the first F-16 fighter jets have arrived in Ukraine.
