The kremlin has dismissed the idea of Ukrainian-russian negotiations based on international law as "scholastic". This was the reaction of kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov to a statement made by Ukrainian presidential advisor Mykhailo Podoliak.

Earlier, Podoliak had stated that Kyiv is ready to negotiate with russia within the framework of international law.

"This is more of a scholastic issue, but we haven't heard any detailed explanations in this case. The topic is occasionally mentioned but without any specifics", - Peskov commented.

He did not specify what exactly the kremlin finds unclear about the term "based on international law". Meanwhile, Mykhailo Podoliak, without any "scholastic" ambiguity, clearly indicated that the concept refers to "territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state".

"The Russian side continues to remain open to the negotiation process", - the kremlin spokesperson once again referred to the ultimatum to Ukraine as a peaceful plan.
