Dmytro Lubinets, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, has sent official letters to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the UN to document another instance of russian military abuse of Ukrainian prisoners. Lubinets writes about this on Telegram.

"Another instance of mistreatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war! A video is circulating online showing russian soldiers abusing Ukrainian prisoners of war. According to preliminary information, this took place in the Kharkiv direction, where the russians are currently attempting offensive actions. The video shows beatings, humiliation, threats, and mock executions. Unfortunately, such treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war is not an exception but a common tactic for the occupiers. These actions violate the Geneva Conventions, which state that prisoners of war have the right to humane treatment", - Lubinets notes.

"This incident must be recorded as further evidence of the russian federation's violation of international humanitarian law! I have sent official letters to the ICRC and the UN to document the abuse. This will add to the body of evidence for a future tribunal against the perpetrators. Russia follows no rules of warfare and shamelessly demonstrates its cruel and inhumane actions! The world must respond to hold russia accountable, otherwise the rule of force will prevail over the rule of law!", - Lubinets emphasized.
