Two waves of explosions occurred near the Belbek airfield outside Sevastopol on the night of May 15. This was reported by local social media, Sevastopol "governor" Mikhail Razvozhayev, and media outlets on May 15.
"The main explosions happened around 1:55 a.m., with russian air defenses presumably in operation. Following this, quieter explosions, likely ammunition detonations, continued for about 15 minutes. Residents saw a glow in the sky. The second wave of attacks lasted until 2:35 a.m. The explosions were heard in Yevpatoria and the Bakhchisaray district", - the report said.
The monitoring group "Krymskiy Veter" noted three fire sites at the Belbek airfield near the runway and aircraft parking areas on satellite images.
Meanwhile, Razvozhayev reported that the russian military "...continues to repel the attack by Ukrainian Nazis".
"According to preliminary information, air defense forces have already shot down several missiles over the water and near the Belbek airfield", - Razvozhayev wrote at 2:33 a.m., urging everyone to remain calm.
The russian Ministry of Defense reported on "...thwarting several attempts by the Kyiv regime to carry out terrorist attacks".
"Over the past night, several attempts by the Kyiv regime to conduct terrorist attacks using American ATACMS tactical missiles, French HAMMER guided bombs, American HARM anti-radar missiles, large-caliber rocket shells, and UAVs against targets on Russian territory were thwarted. Air defense systems destroyed ten tactical missiles over the Crimean peninsula, two HARM missiles, two HAMMER bombs, two Olkha rocket shells, and nine UAVs over Belgorod oblast, five UAVs over Kursk oblast, and three UAVs over Bryansk oblast", - the occupying force's ministry wrote on Telegram at 7:22 a.m.
