Residents of the 76 demolished high-rise buildings in the occupied city of Mariupol cannot obtain compensatory housing. The so-called "mayor" Oleg Morgun acknowledged this fact in his Telegram channel.

The discussion revolves around the Livoberezhnyi district of Mariupol, which the occupiers renamed after the Soviet party leader Sergo Ordzhonikidze.

"We talked to the residents of the demolished buildings... Everyone's situation is different. Some have received positive decisions regarding the provision of compensatory housing, but the areas of the lost apartments are smaller than one-bedroom units in new buildings. Others are still in the process of restoring property ownership documents through the courts. And some have not privatized their apartments at all", - explained the head of the occupation administration, regarding why people cannot receive the promised compensatory housing.

The "mayor" once again promised to raise this issue at the Restoration Headquarters "to make a decision at the highest level".

For now, he suggested to the homeless citizens to "consider temporary housing in properties from the maneuvering fund". However, not everyone will be able to avail themselves of temporary shelter, only those "whose housing issue is most acute".
