Former US Secretary of State, ex-CIA director, and one of the closest allies of presidential candidate Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, stated that the US should help Ukraine "threaten" what matters to russia, including in moscow and St. Petersburg. Pompeo made these remarks while speaking at a forum in India on March 21, as reported by BRIEF.
"If you hold a leadership position in russia, not just in putin’s office, but the russian leadership as a whole, and your mothers peacefully tuck your children into bed every night in moscow and St. Petersburg, unlike a Ukrainian mother who tucks her child in and prays that a missile won't hit their building tonight, this is an asymmetric approach. It is because of this that the European conflict will drag on. We must threaten what matters to russia, or at least convince them of it", - Pompeo stated.
According to Pompeo, the US mistakenly "told Ukrainians that they cannot risk anything russian" (recognized territories of the russian federation by the West - OstroV).
Earlier, it was reported that the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, met with former CIA director Mike Pompeo on February 2.
