The Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov appointed Andrey Krishchenko on the position of the deputy head of the National Police of Ukraine - head of the Kiev administration of the National Police, who showed his heroism during the attack by militants on the City Police Department in Gorlovka. Avakov reposted this on his Facebook page.
"On the basis of the appointment of Khatia Dekanoidze on the positon of the head of the National Police of Ukraine, today I appointed by order of the Minister Andrey Krishchenko on the position of the deputy head of the National Police of Ukraine - head of the National Police in Kiev" - wrote Avakov.
Before the appointment Andrey Krishchenko was the head Kharkov City Department of Police. Gorlovka, in fact, was one of a few cities in Donetsk region, where the police headed by Colonel Andrey Krishchenko and his deputy Lieutenant Colonel Herman Prystupa resisted the separatists attack. However, the City Department was captured by terrorists headed by Igor Bezler (Devil). Avakov said that 9 months ago he had appointed A. Krishchenko on the position of the head of police in Kharkov, and stressed that he had never regretted his choice.
"Andrey Krishchenko is an example of a real officer and true patriot of Ukraine. As the head of the police in Gorlovka, he risked his life to defend the Ukrainian flag from separatists. He was seriously injured", - wrote the Minister of Internal Affairs.
Krishchenko was awarded the Order "For courage" of the III degree for heroism in the defense of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the oath.
