Britain is set to use its naval expertise to assist Ukraine in controlling the Black Sea as part of a 10-year security pact expected to be signed in the coming weeks. The Telegraph reported this on December 19, citing its own sources.

"The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will pledge to keep Kyiv in the fight against Russia by providing military support focused on naval assets, as well as financial aid and intelligence sharing", - the report notes.

The document will also include promises of post-war security guarantees, allowing for the repulsion of russian attacks if they were to occur again, including increased arms deliveries and the restoration of sanctions.

Britain hopes to use its naval strength and expertise to further develop Ukraine's maritime capabilities.

As previously reported, Britain and Norway announced the creation of a Coalition of Naval Forces and Assets to support the Ukrainian Navy.
