In Pokrovsk, which was subjected to two rocket strikes by russian aggressors on the evening of August 7th, the rescue operation continued today, August 8th. The press service of the State Emergency Service of the Donetsk oblast reported this.
"As a result of the shelling, 12 multi-story buildings, 2 catering establishments, 2 shops, an administrative building, a pharmacy, a hotel, as well as service and civilian vehicles were damaged", - the statement said.
Currently, explosive experts, investigators, forensic experts, operatives and paramedics are working at the scene of the tragedy. Police officers are accepting statements, documenting destruction, assisting the injured and their relatives.
Based on the materials collected by the police, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated, and the legal qualification of the russian military crime is a violation of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It's worth noting that the second strike by russian aggressors on Pokrovsk occurred when police officers and rescuers had already arrived at the site of the first rocket impact. Deputy Head of the Main Department for Emergency Situations Response, Colonel of the Civil Defense Service Andrii Omelchenko, was killed.
As reported, the number of wounded from the russian rocket attack on the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk oblast has risen to 81. Seven people have died: five civilians, a rescuer and a serviceman.
