President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov by his decree. This was reported on the website of the President of Ukraine on July 17.

On the removal of I.Bakanov from the duties of the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine. In accordance with Article 47 of the Disciplinary Statute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, approved by the Law of Ukraine dated March 24, 1999 No. 551-XIV, to remove Ivan BAKANOV from the duties of the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine", - the website of the President of Ukraine reports.
Let us recall that in May 2019, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, Ivan Bakanov was initially appointed as the first deputy head of the SBU – the head of the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the Central Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine. Subsequently, he became the acting head of the SBU. On August 29, 2019, the parliament appointed him the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
