About 100 Russians are detained in Ukraine, more than 130 Russian citizens are charged in connection with participation in the fighting in Donbass. It was stated by ombudsman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Konstantin Dolgov, – reports Deutsche Welle with the reference to Interfax.

"As a rule, Ukrainian authorities accuse our citizens of posing threat to the territorial integrity of Ukraine", - said the Russian diplomat.

He claims that the Ukrainian authorities often do not fulfill their obligations either under a bilateral consular convention or the Vienna Convention on consular agreements. In addition, they do not immediately notify the Russian side about the arrest of Russian citizens. "But we, in spite of all these problems, obstacles from Kiev, continue to work to ensure that our citizens return, of course, to their homeland as soon as possible," - summed up Dolgov.

As previously reported, on April 18th Golosiyivskyi district court of Kyiv recognized Russians Yevgeniy Alexandrov and Alexander Yerofeyev guilty and sentenced them to 14 years in prison.

Many mercenaries fighting in Donbas do not hide that they are Russian citizens.
