The government will resume tpayment of pensions and social assistance to population of occupied Donbass only after return of the Ukrainian authorities to these territories. This was announced by the Minister on temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons Vadim Chernysh in his interview with OstroV.

"Payment of social benefits to the uncontrolled territories of certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions can be resumed only after return of the Ukrainian authorities to these territories," - said Chernysh commenting on the future policy of the Ministry in relation to internally displaced persons and residents of the occupied territories.

Earlier lawyer of the Donetsk regional organization of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine Natalia Tselovalnichenko told OstroV that 198 000 pensioners didn’t receive pensions on the occupied territory of Donbass.

"Article 46 of the Constitution of Ukraine is not clearly linked to the territory but to the citizenship. Pensions are paid no matter where the citizen is," - said the lawyer.

She also stressed that Donbass area was not officially recognized as occupied under international law.
