Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov evaded a direct answer to the question of whether the kremlin is ready to provide additional troops to "defend" Donetsk, - russian media report.

On Monday, the "DNR" leader Denis Pushilin stated that he had reached some understanding that "all the necessary additional allied forces will be involved" to counter the shelling of Donetsk, allegedly by the AFU.

"The main goal of russia's special military operation is to protect the DNR and LNR", - the speaker of president of the aggressor country answered evasively when asked whether the russian federation would provide the "allied forces" requested by pushilin.

He forwarded the question of additional support to the russian Ministry of Defense.
