German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has stated that during a video conference with the White House on April 19, NATO countries and its partners came to an agreement that they should not allow the victory of the russian army in Ukraine. This is reported by Voice of America.

The head of the German government spoke about this agreement at a press conference following a video conference held on Tuesday with the participation of Western leaders.

In addition to Scholz, the presidents of the USA, Poland, France and Romania, the prime ministers of Great Britain, Japan and Italy, as well as other officials, including leaders of the European Union, took part in the videoconference.

"Together with our partners in the EU and NATO, we are absolutely unanimous in our opinion that russia should not win this war", - Scholz said.

The chancellor directly addressed russian president putin with the words: "Stop shelling Ukrainian cities. Establish an immediate truce and withdraw your soldiers. Stop this terrible war".

Scholz called the actions of the russian federation in Ukraine "a senseless war" and "a flagrant violation of international law".

A statement released by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's office following a video conference reports that "the leaders agreed to work together to find a long-term security solution so that Ukraine cannot be attacked in this way again".
