NABU and SAPO have sent indictments to the court against the retired lieutenant general and official of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, suspected of embezzling of UAH 2.87 million during the construction of dugouts in the JFO zone. This was reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
The investigation found that in 2015, the head of the Main Directorate of the AFU Operational Support approved the project documentation that did not meet the military requirements stipulated by the Ministry of Defense, which allowed a private company to build fortifications of inadequate quality on the territory of ATO (JFO) in the Donetsk oblast.
The investigation believes that the official acted deliberately in the interests of the private company.
Subsequently, the Department of Capital Construction of the Donetsk Regional State Administration unreasonably accepted the work on the construction of dugouts carried out by the private company. The investigation into the role of this official was completed in July 2020.
The materials were opened to the AFU official for review in May 2021.
