Prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General have informed a citizen of Ukraine of suspicion of participation in the "DNR" illegal armed formation, controlled by the Russian Federation, and of vicious treatment of civilians and prisoners of war. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.

"According to the investigation, the indicated citizen, participating in the activities of the so-called "Ministry of State Security of the DNR", rided roughshod over Ukrainian civilians: beat them, threatened with murder, imitated executions, kept them in inhuman conditions. In addition, the investigation claims that he tortured captive servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine and threatened to murder by putting a gun to the victims' temple", - the report said.

The PGOU states that this person flagrantly violated the Geneva Conventions on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and on the Treatment of Prisoners of War as of 12.08.1949, since international standards provide for a humane treatment of civilians and prisoners of war, providing protection and prohibiting the use of physical violence.
