Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed an attempt to recruit a citizen of Ukraine by representatives of the so-called "DNR Ministry of State Security", - the SBU press center reported. The Special services operatives found that in December 2019, while crossing the demarcation line from the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk oblast, the militants of the so-called "DNR Ministry of State Security" abducted a businessman from Dnipro, who was going to visit his parents in his native Donetsk. They groundlessly accused the man of activities to the detriment of the so-called "DNR", in particular, of working for the Ukrainian special services. After "filing accusation", the militants were illegally detaining the Ukrainian in the basement for two weeks, using psychological and physical pressure methods, depriving him of adequate nutrition. Threatening with reprisals against the relatives, they persuaded the businessman to confidential cooperation. "The terrorists set him the task of collecting and transmitting information about the patriotic organizations with which he maintained contacts. The consent to cooperation did not completely satisfy the militants, therefore, another confinement condition was the confiscation of a significant amount of cash and the businessman's car by the employees of the so-called "DNR Ministry of State Security", - the report said. After returning to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, the man came into the SBU attention. Now the citizen has provided detailed evidence about the circumstances of his recruitment and the tasks set. According to the results of the check, it was found that he had not taken any actions to the detriment of the state security of Ukraine.
In occupied Donetsk, a man engaged in passenger transportation was sentenced to 5 years in prison, allegedly for "terrorism". This was stated in the report of the fake "Prosecutor General's Office of the DNR". It was stated that "the convict was recruited by the SBU employees in November 2016 and deliberately, out of personal interest, "carried out terrorist activities since November 2016 until October 2018" in order to freely cross the demarcation line through the Marinka-Ukraine checkpoint for private carriage of passengers. The exact "terrorist activity" of the carrier was not specified, however, the so-called Budyonnovsk interdistrict court sentenced the resident of Donetsk to 5 years in prison.
The Luhanskvoda enterprise controlled by the "LNR" militants temporarily changed the schedule for supplying water to certain areas of Luhansk due to the repair work on the Petrovske water conduct, separatist media reported. So, residents of the eastern quarters of Luhansk, as well as of the upper part of Mala Verhunka, will receive water on January 24 - from 6.00 to 9.00 and from 18.00 to 22.00. Water supply to the houses of residents of Kalugina, 3rd Donetsk and Krapivnitskogo streets, 10th, 26th, 27th, 30th and 31st quarters, Likhovida, Shevchenko, Dimitrova, Heroes of the Brest Fortress, Alekseeva, Yeremenko and 50 years to the USSR formation quarters, Shchorsa and Parkhomenko townships, as well as settlement of the OR plant, will be carried out on January 24 - from 06.00 to 08.00 and from 18.00 to 22.00. Water supply of the Velyka Verhunka and Krasnyi Yar settlements will be suspended on January 24.
