The resignation statement of Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaliy Kasko has been granted. This was reported by the GPOU prosecutor Vladislav Kutsenko on Facebook.
"The decision has been made. The order of dismissal of Vitaliy Kasko from the post of Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine was signed today (on February 15th - ed). We are waiting for Vitaliy Kasko in the Department of Personnel Management to familiarize t with the order of dismissal andgive back his employment record book!"- he said.
As reported by OstroV, the Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaliy Kasko announced about resignation from his post as the GPOU has become, according to him, hotbed and the "crime-sponsored cover" of corruption.
US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt believes that the resignation of Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaliy Kasko will slow down the reform process in Ukraine. He added that "Ukraine deserves a transparent judicial system", which needs a reform that will be able to "overcome corruption and nepotism". According to him, the United States will continue to support such reforms in the prosecutor sphere.
