The Russian Federation will continue to "assist" illegal armed formations of the "LNR" and "DNR" in the Ukrainian Donbass. This was said by Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to the video question of Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin, who is fighting on the side of terrorists in the Donbass, on June 7, - Ukrayinska Pravda reports.
Prilepin noted that the "L /DNR" fighters feared that the Ukrainian army would "take advantage of the World Cup and start active offensive action".
Putin, in turn, stated that he hoped there would be no such "provocation".
"And if this happens, I think that this will have quite drastic consequences for the Ukrainian statehood as a whole", – he said.
At the same time, the Russian president assured the Russian mercenary and propagandist that the help to the Donbass occupied by the militants would continue to be provided.
We see what has been happening there, how people are suffering… We help both unrecognized republics and will continue doing this", - Putin stated.
As previously reported, Russia illegally delivers weapons, ammunition and military equipment to the occupied Donbass. Militant units of militants are led by regular Russian military men, in fact, many mercenaries from Russia and servicemen of the Russian regular army fight in the illegal armed formations.
