President Petro Poroshenko initiated an emergency meeting of the Consultative Committee of the Presidents of Ukraine and Poland in order to prevent further escalation of tension between the two countries. This was reported by the press secretary of Poroshenko Svyatoslav Tsegolko in Facebook.
"Resonant statements by the representatives of the official Polish authorities towards Ukraine and its leadership, which have sounded recently, cause serious concern and cannot remain without proper response", - the report said.
It is noted that Poroshenko initiated an extraordinary meeting of the presidential committee to strengthen the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland, and to avoid further escalation of tension.
The Consultative Committee is an advisory body, it is headed by foreign policy advisors to presidents.
