The law “On the special order of local self-government in certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts” is planned to be extended for another year. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraina with reference to an informed source.

"A special order of local government will be extended temporarily, for one year, after the entry into force of the law on the restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty", - the source said.

According to it, the relevant norm is supposed to be included in the transitional provisions of the bill on restoring Ukraine's sovereignty over the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

As previously reported, on October 20, 2014, the law of Ukraine “On the special order of local self-government in certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts” was published in the official parliamentary newspaper Holos Ukrainy and came into force. The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on September 16, 2014, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed it on October 16. Special order of local self-government was introduced by the law for three years, from the date of entry into force.
