In the occupied territory of the Donbass, 800 thousand people do not have reliable access to a sufficient amount of affordable and nutritious food. This is stated in the study of the UN cluster on food security.

According to the received data, the level of food danger for the year increased from 13% to 26% in the occupied part of the Donbass. This means that 800 thousand people from uncontrolled territory are considered to be those who do not have reliable access to a sufficient number of affordable and nutritious food.

On the controlled territories to a lesser extent, but also a similar trend is observed - the number of people having difficulties with normal nutrition also increased to 15% (from 6%) and to 14% (from 10%) in the Donetsk and the Luhansk oblasts, respectively. The total number of such people is 410 thousand.

The study indicates a direct link between the level of food security and employment. "In the controlled area, an insufficient level of food security in households where all members of the family are unemployed is 21% (8% in those with at least one person employed), in uncontrolled areas this level is even higher: 32% of households in the Luhansk oblast, where all members of the family are unemployed, have insufficient food security (20% for households with at least one employed person) and 45% (22%) for the Donetsk oblast, respectively", - the study said.
