President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko considers the format of the UN peacekeeping mission, proposed by Vladimir Putin only for the protection of the OSCE SMM, strange. The head of Ukrainian state said this today during his message to the Verkhovna Rada, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"We have finally heard a certain reaction from the other side of the front, although we understand clearly that the devil is in the detail. The Russian Federation's proposal to deploy the UN mission only for the purpose of protecting the OSCE SMM is at least strange, especially since these are Russian militants who are the main threat to international observers", - he said.

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko told about the format of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass. According to him, the mission should be located throughout the territory of the uncontrolled Donbass, including the Russian-Ukrainian border. He also eliminated the possibility of negotiations with the militants and the participation of the Russian Federation in the mission.

As OstroV reported, Vladimir Putin stated that he considers the deployment of peacekeepers in the Donbass for the security of the OSCE mission to be quite appropriate when fulfilling a number of conditions. In particular, he believes that peacekeepers can be present only on the line of demarcation in the Donbass, and should be introduced after direct negotiations with occupied Donetsk and Luhansk.
