Restoration of the Donbass is a matter of honor for the Ukrainian authorities. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the school opening ceremony in Pokrovsk, Donetsk oblast, - OstroV’s correspondent reports from the scene.
"It is very important that we are traveling to Donbass not only to verify the defence capability of our army, the strengthening of its armament... We are going to make important steps of revival... Now it's a matter of honor to restore infrastructure, bridges, overpasses, power supply system", - the president said.
As an example, he cited the situation in Avdiivka, when in winter, as a result of bombardments, the city was left without electricity and militants fired workers who tried to repair broken wires.
Nowadays, a new power line has been built, and the frontline city no longer depends on the occupied territory. Similar work is carried out to provide Avdiivka with gas supply from the territory under the control of the Ukrainian authorities.
