The Ministry of Health initiated a ban on the sale in Ukraine of 250 medicines produced in Russia. This was stated by acting Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun, reports RBK-Ukraina.

"There are 250 medicines on the list, of which only 150 actually have a pharmacological effect, and we have analogues for all but eight medications", - she said.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health could not provide a list of specific names of Russian drugs that could be prohibited.

In his turn, the chairman of the board of the Union of Consumers of Medical Services, Medicines and Medical Products Vladyslav Onishchenko noted that many Russian medicines, sold in Ukraine, do not have the effect prescribed in their instructions, or are medicines with unproved efficacy and/or safety. Among them he named Anaferon, Lavomax, Viferon, Ciloferon, Cortexin and Vitaprost.
